There has been increasing talk about innovation in healthcare over the past few years. Healthcare needs a more human-centered design in order to serve our patients and become more efficient. Authors Tom Kelley and his brother David, founders of IDEO, remind us all that creativity isn’t limited to designers. We are all creative but may need a little more creative confidence.
In their book, Creative Confidence: Unleashing the Creative Potential Within All of Us, the authors share stories and case examples throughout of how design thinking spurs essential change and ignites greater confidence in our ability to create innovative solutions to common problems.
The book had me swirling with new ideas about how design thinking can aid the patient experience. It’s a fast and easy read. I downloaded it on my iPad for easy transport, but now wish I had the hard copy because there are so many sections I go back to, for review. Digital or hardcover, it’s worth the time.
