Brian Hooser, RN, CPXP

Consultant/Trainer

Brian Hooser is an experienced healthcare leader who combines his background as an educator with his clinical experience in leading patient experience and culture transformation. He began his healthcare career after teaching elementary and middle school when a family health crisis illuminated the vital role all healthcare workers play in the patient and family experience. This experience has shaped his approach to caring for patients and families at the bedside as well as staff training and leading the patient experience.
Brian was a staff nurse and charge nurse before becoming the Director of Patient Experience at VHC Health where he developed and facilitated training for all hospital staff on patient experience best practices. Here he developed and monitored performance metrics to improve consistencies that elevate patient experience scores. Part of the organization’s patient experience improvements are a result of Brian’s hourly rounding audits and training for clinical staff.

His combined background in education and clinical work have made him a strong trainer and consultant who has been there, done that. His pragmatic, no-nonsense approach stems from years of coaching and being coached as a college athlete. Brian brings strong coaching skills to his consulting work.

Brian completed a Bachelor of Arts in education from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio and an Associate degree in Nursing from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He is currently a Master’s of Science in Nursing candidate.
